St Petersburg in Paris

Yuri Temirkanov and the St Petersburg Philharmonic are back with Prokofiev (Violin concerto No. 2 with Boris Belkin, the Suite from “Romeo and Juliet”, Piano concerto No. 3 with Nikolai Demidenko) and Tchaikovsky (Symphony No. 4). For two nights, Paris will be in a Russian mood.

Vinci, the king of Opera Seria

With Philippe Jaroussky and Max Emanuel Cencic on stage, the Concerto Köln and Diego Fasolis in the orchestra pit, all the right ingredients are there to revive “Artaserse” and to pay tribute to the genius of Leonardo Vinci, the most plagiarised composer in the eighteenth century.

La Fenice in Venice

Three Italian operas to celebrate the great Venetian opera house: Bel Canto with “Maria Stuarda”, staged by the talented Denis Krief, Verdi’s “La Traviata” with the wonderful Patrizia Ciofi, and a much more contemporary opera by Luigi Nono to add a bit of spice!
